Runlayer Joins Anthropic, OpenAI, & Google as AAIF Founding Member

Today, The Linux Foundation announced the Agentic Artificial Intelligence Foundation (AAIF). Runlayer is joining as a Gold-tier sponsor alongside Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, AWS, and Microsoft. On day one, AAIF takes over three foundational AI projects: Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), Block's goose, and OpenAI's AGENTS.md.

Anthropic donating MCP to the AAIF is a big deal. Since the protocol launched, there's been speculation about whether MCP would become the standard for how AI agents connect to tools and data. MCP is the clear standard. It's joining the ranks of GraphQL, .NET, and Kubernetes as the established open-source protocol.

As the enterprise MCP platform and long-time contributors to AI tooling, Runlayer is joining the AAIF to curate, develop, and steer the future of making AI agents actually work in production.

Why Runlayer is Joining The AAIF

The AAIF launches with universal support from the AI industry. In addition to Runlayer, backers of the AAIF include Anthropic, Google, AWS, Bloomberg, Microsoft and dozens of other enterprise AI leaders.

The Agentic Artificial Intelligence Foundation is a major leap towards simple and safe enablement of AI. AAIF is a neutral agency; not biased towards any foundational model (e.g. Claude or GPT) or commercial AI application.

At Runlayer, we’re enabling enterprises to adopt MCP across every industry. We’ve seen first-hand the benefits of MCP, goose, and AGENTS.md, and we look forward to the projects co-existing under a single roof.

Why We Built Runlayer

Runlayer is the simpler, safer way to connect MCPs. Runlayer connects AI to the enterprise stack with the necessary security guarantees: custom threat detection, fine-grained permissions, and complete observability for AI deployments.

“MCP makes your developers faster. Runlayer makes MCP enterprise-ready, so you can use it throughout your company.”

David Soria Parra,
Co-creator of MCP, Anthropic

Through our support for AAIF and our contributions to pushing forward the development of MCP, we will enable secure agents across enterprises.
